Comments/Problems:

 * I used LVM guided partioning, with seperate /var, /usr, /home, etc.

The target drive had an existing LVM setup which I wanted to replace which
partman correctly identified and refused to continue. However, the message
displayed didn't seem to indicate how to proceed within d-i, so I removed
the LVM stuff on another tty and continued.

(Hrm, I can't seem find the string again right now :s)

 * I was offered the installation of GRUB2 over grub-legacy, but installation
failed. I was installing Etch, so I'm not sure why I was presented with
   this.

 * Upon reboot, the kernel decided that /boot--previously on /dev/sda1--was
now located at /dev/hdg1. This didn't actually cause a boot failure, but
bootup was interrupted by fsck (a la "Press CTRL-d to continue") as the
   drive did not exist.

Using e2label and editing /etc/fstab to match fixed this, but are there
plans to adopt labels/UUIDs when partioning?

 * I then installed the Etchnhalf kernel in addition to Etch's 2.6.18,
followed by an attempted installation of ia32-libs. However, this failed
   due to insufficient disk space.

I already posted my comments regarding the rather tight fit on "/" to
#431296. Perhaps this comment can act as a friendly reminder for
interested parties to respond there? :]

Regards,
