Package: busybox
Version: 1:1.1.3-3
Severity: normal

Granted, the line ending of the attached file looks a bit odd, normal
cut deals with it properly while busybox's cut doesn't:

752:tbm@deprecation: ~] cut -d . -f 2- HOSTNAME
753:tbm@deprecation: ~] busybox cut -d . -f 2- HOSTNAME

-- System Information:
Debian Release: testing/unstable
  APT prefers testing
  APT policy: (500, 'testing')
Architecture: i386 (i686)
Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash
Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-1-686
Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8)

Versions of packages busybox depends on:
ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries

busybox recommends no packages.

I've confirmed that the busybox version in the archive has the same behaviour
as the normal cut, so I'm closing this bug. Thank you for your report.
