Package: busybox
Version: 1:1.1.3-5
Severity: wishlist

Is there a good reason not to upgrade busybox to the latest version ?

I've compiled svn version 20150 with the same applets plus eject, fdflush,
fdformat, fdisk, halt, insmod, lsmod, mkswap, poweroff, reboot, rmmod
and the total is 5448 bytes smaller on AMD64 (514088 instead of 519536).
The applets are more complete in the recent versions, the only thing that
disapperead are the e2fs utils which are not compiled in anyway.

Full disclosure: I have a vested interest in the upgrade (I use ubuntu as
"portable linux" and the recent busybox allows for a smaller initrd, and
Ubuntu would consider the upgrade more easily if it were first tested in
  Debian !).

     Thank you,

          Loïc Grenié

Hi,

A new upstream version of busybox has been uploaded recently, thereby solving
your request for such an upgrade.

cheers,
Thijs
