No worries, I've been off being distracted with getting a kernel package
which can support Xen in a way which is useful for the installer too.

I don't know ;-) I select Guided partitioning and it presents me with
the options of /dev/xvda ("screenshot" below). I guess I'm hitting some
generic fallback code which looks at /sys/block or something?
(this is with an initrd built around the time I filed this bug, perhaps
things have changed since).
