NTP-Server in d-i manual/appendix/preseed.xml

Hi,

while updating preseed.xml file to german, I read:

+# Controls whether to use NTP to set the clock during the install
+d-i clock-setup/ntp boolean true
+# NTP server to use. The default is almost always fine here.
+#d-i clock-setup/ntp-server ntp.example.com

Hmm, it says, the default is almost fine, but when I try to use
that server (set NTPSERVERS="ntp.example.com"
in /etc/defaults/ntpdate), it comes to

smaug:/home/ed# ntpdate
13 Jan 21:45:38 ntpdate[14009]: no servers can be used, exiting
