Hmm. I would not have expected that issue from that image.
Could you provide the output of the following commands when you get that 
error:
- uname -a
- ls /cdrom/pool/main/l/linux-kernel-di-amd64-2.6/
  (full output is not needed, just the kernel version of the udebs listed,
  for example: ...-2.6.22-3-amd64-di_...)
