I don't think that will help anything to get it worked on. The only that
will help that is if someone actually starts doing something about it.
The changes should be relatively minor and it should be trivial to make the
changes locally and test that it works. The fact that nobody has done that
yet can only mean that nobody is interested enough to actually do so.
