d-i initrd flavours: why so many ?
Hi,
I've been looking for testing d-i images for hd-media, but they don't
seem to exist.
That let me to wonder if there was a reason why there were so many
flavours of the debian-installer initrd, and if it would not be more
straightforward to reduce their number.
Wouldn't it be better to have, for example, only one initrd that
would take a "mode" argument, taking values such as "net", "hd", etc.
Then, the difference would be made on the syslinux configuration on
the media, and not in the initrd.
What do you think ?
Mike
