Bug#442291: debconf-communicate clears screen when used with newt frontend

Package: cdebconf
Version: 0.120
Severity: normal

Consider a script that does something like:

ret=$(echo "GET debconf/priority | debconf-communicate")

If cdebconf and the newt frontend are used, debconf-communicate outputs
escape sequences to clear the screen, so this won't work.

There are probably programs in debian that do this, for more or less
valid reasons, and switching to cdebconf will break them..
