E: Unimplemented function between time and choose language

I'm currently testing a daily installer on a Cobalt (mipsel, using
mklibs-copy rather than mklibs) and between setting the time and just
before showing the "Choose Language" menu I see the following messages
on the screen:

E: Unimplemented function
E: Unimplemented function
E: Unimplemented function
E: Unimplemented function

Any idea what this might be?  syslog doesn't contain any warnings.
