Package: debian-installer
Version: 4.0

In Debian 4.0 AMD64 (DVD install downloaded 12 April 2007) on a
Core2Duo laptop (Toshiba U200) with a full-size Windows XP partition
(80GB on 80GB disk), I was not able to resize the partition using the
text-based Debian installer, but the graphical installer worked like a
charm.

The behaviour of the text installer was tested in two reboots.

The installation was the default (2.6 kernel) with options: English,
British English keyboard, Greece location, no network config, manual
partitioning.

 :-)

You are tricked by the non-intiative text interface.

Is does work also in text mode:
* Select the partition
* Move cursor to the size
* Press enter
* eXPrience that the size is asked ...

Feel free to verify it

P.S.
AFAIK is changing/improving the behaviour the text partition tool
one of the goals for the next release.

P.P.S.
Thanks for reporting this.
Have fun with you Debian GNU/Linux system.
