Thanks for the answer Frans. Is there any chance that this feature
will make it to the Lenny
release. Something like integrity-check which works with Ubuntu.

I played around with the Etch installer a bit and found that as soon
as the CDROM is mounted its
possible to access a console, cd into the /cdrom directory and do a:

md5sum -c md5sum.txt

Maybe a script in initrd.gz that does something similar perhaps?
