The following bug :

Aug 10 00:51:21 main-menu[1540]: WARNING **: Menu item 'download-installer' failed. 

Cause d-i to be unusable on powerpc for installation.

This is a known issue that has been listed on the DebianInstaller/Today wiki 
page since 20 June. There already is an RC bug (#434040) open against 
linux-libc-dev that addresses the issue.

Therefore closing this report.
