Announcing win32-loader 0.5.5
win32-loader 0.5.5 has been released and is available from
http://goodbye-microsoft.com/
What's new in 0.5.5 (in comparison to 0.4.0 which was the last version
announced here):
- License upgrade to GPL 3.
- Get rid of unbuildable System.dll. Use systeminfo.c plugin sent by Paul Wise instead.
- Add Debian packaging (not yet in sid).
- Improve country detection in localised versions of Windows.
- Disable win9x support because of serious runtime issues.
- Replace icon with SVG-based version that looks slightly better on Vista, much better on XP, and horrible on 2k and 9x.
- Vista fixes:
- Write a smarter parser for bcdedit.exe output. This fixes bootmgr hooking for localised versions of Windows.
- Fix timezone detection.
- Translation updates: Swedish, French, Dutch. New translations: Turkish.
