It appears that this also happens when new devices are created:

partman-lvm: Physical volume "/dev/sda5" successfully created
partman-lvm: Volume group "vmware2" successfully created
partman-lvm: /dev/cdrom: open failed: Read-only file system
partman-lvm: Attempt to close device '/dev/cdrom' which is not open.
partman-lvm: Rounding up size to full physical extent 772.00 MB
partman-lvm: Logical volume "root" created
partman-lvm: /dev/cdrom: open failed: Read-only file system
partman-lvm: Attempt to close device '/dev/cdrom' which is not open.
partman-lvm: Rounding up size to full physical extent 128.00 MB
partman-lvm: Logical volume "swap_1" created
partman-lvm: /dev/cdrom: open failed: Read-only file system
partman-lvm: Attempt to close device '/dev/cdrom' which is not open.
partman-lvm: Logical volume "home" created

I'm not quite sure if this is something that is new, or that it also
happened for Etch. It is quite ugly though.
Note that I was using a mini.iso image, thus no CD during the install.
