a related issue is if you have a cd not loaded through the CD mechanism for whatever reason and you have internet sources then even if you tell apt to allow unauthenticated it will always preffer the authenticated source, this is annoying if you have CD contents availible through a fast mechanism but a full mirror only accessible over a slowish internet link
