Etch Install Matrox Graphics Problem

I've installed etch. Netinstall. Spanish.
System locked-up entering gnome, after a short while.
Got help from debiantutorials.org: in /etc/X11/xorg.conf,

changed "mga" to "vesa" and everything works.
