First of all, could you please try an installatio to that stage again, and when it hangs, change to VT2 (Alt + F2), run "ps axwww" and report the output.

The contents of /var/log/syslog would also be interesting (use "Save debug logs" from the main menu in the installer to do this, you might need to gzip the log files before sending them to the list).
