This is a known problem with the graphical installer. Will probably not be fixed for etch.
Is this because it's tough to fix or that time is limited? I don't think it's so minor especially since Etch would be the first Debian release with a graphical installer, and it shouldn't look amateurish with such annoying bugs around.
