Uploaded to sid yesterday ... just before reading that etch is frozen. Since
it contains more debugging code, comments improvements and some minor coding
style changes I will ask RM to consider it for etch once is tested in sid
for some days. Fortunately, old version passed just before the freeze.

The new debugging code deals with reading debconf values after they are set
to make sure they are really saved. Enabled as usually. I do not think now
of additional useful debugging code.
