Package: debian-installer
Severity: wishlist

When installing from network doesn't work, I would like to be able to
ping a few hosts to help isolate the problem. However, there seems to be
no 'ping' command available from the shell.

This has been suggested and considered before. The conclusion has always
been that there is no real need to have ping in the installer. You can
use wget instead to test network connection.
