Base System Installation Checklist:
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

Initial boot worked: [O]
Configure network HW: [O]
Config network: [O]
Detect CD: [O]
Load installer modules: [O]
Detect hard drives: [E]
Partition hard drives: [O]
Create file systems: [O]
Mount partitions: [O]
Install base system: [O]
Install boot loader: [O]
Reboot: [E]

Comments/Problems:
Everything with the installation went fine, except that the initrd that
is generated does not include the megaraid_sas module (which is required
for the raid controller). I had to manually add it to
/etc/initramfs-tools/modules, then regenerate the initrd before I was
able to boot the new system.

Hello Jason,

Your report matches the research of us(Frans & me).

Kernel 2.6.16 doesn't known that the megaraid_sas module is needed for
the PCI ID 1028:0015. Kernel 2.6.17 has that knowledge.

Where the d-i beta 3 uses 2.6.16 and current versions 2.6.17, so those
versions of debian-installer will know to load megaraid_sas, I'm closing
your installation report.

Have fun with your Debian GNU/Linux computer system.

Cheers
Geert Stappers
