Ah, this is why d-i does not detect it. As it only happens in 'expert' mode it's ok to have-to-know what will happen if you select the module but confusing the first time to someone else. I can live with it as d-i is excellent in other ways compared to Anaconda for example. My actual wishlist-item is supporting ftp:// access to network repos.
