Bug#384272: installation-report: "back" during install skips stage, and some "obsolate command" from debconf
Package: installation-reports
Version: 2.17
Severity: important
-- Package-specific info:
Boot method: hard disk (put ISO on HD and mounted it after booting the
kernel image). Followed instructions in
http://www.hotwire.me.uk/blog/?p=18 modified to suit for the Etch
installer of the day.
Image version: sorry, not sure. it was downloaded around beginning of
August 2006
Date: 2006-08-01 19:44 (time of /usr/share/doc/installation-report)
Machine: Dual core Pentium 4 desktop

Comments/Problems:
Main problem I found was that when hitting the "back" button in the
package installation/debconf stage the configuration was just skipped as
if I hit the "next" button. (I was using the text-based install, the
version with the graphical
installer option came out about two weeks later).
Apart from that, there were a few packages which caused debconf to emit
"Obsolate comand TITLE Configuring...", the ones I noted were portmap
and printconf and "Debian Automatic Printer Configuration" (maybe same
as printconf?).
Also got error from udev about use of "%e".
I don't remember the installation mentioning this
"installation-report" package (maybe I forgot). It would be helpful if
the system mentioned it prominantly.
All in all things went very well and I now have an excellent Etch installation.

Provides: libparted1.6-13
Description: The GNU Parted disk partitioning shared library
GNU Parted is a program that allows you to create, destroy,
resize, move and copy hard disk partitions. This is useful
for creating space for new operating systems, reorganising
disk usage, and copying data to new hard disks. This package
contains the Parted binary and manual page.
.
This package contains libparted, the required shared library
used by Parted. This is a cut-down package with no normal
documentation intended to be used in debian-installer.
.
Parted currently supports DOS, Mac, Sun, BSD, GPT, MIPS and
PC98 disklabels/partition tables, as well as a 'loop' (raw
disk) type which allows use on RAID/LVM. Filesystems which
are currently fully supported are ext2, ext3, fat (FAT16
and FAT32), ReiserFS (with libreiserfs) and linux-swap.
Parted can also detect and remove HFS (Mac OS), JFS, NTFS,
UFS (Sun and HP), XFS and ASFS/AFFS/APFS (Amiga) filesystems,
but cannot create, resize or check these filesystems yet.
.
Note that ReiserFS support is only enabled if you install
the libreiserfs0.3-0 package. Since libreiserfs0.3-0 has been
removed from sarge, ReiserFS support is not compiled in the
default package.
.
The nature of this software means that any bugs could cause
massive data loss. While there are no known bugs at the moment,
they could exist, so please back up all important files before
running it, and do so at your own risk.
