Bug#373650: kbd-chooser: bootkbd option makes installer hangs, has to press enter
Package: kbd-chooser
Version: 1.27
Severity: normal
Hi,
I tried to use the bootkbd option for preselecting the keyboard type,
but it just hangs and requires enter to be pressed.
- at the syslinux prompt, I type
install bootkbd=fr-latin9
- the kernel boots up, udev starts, the frame buffer is set up.
- It then hangs with only
Trying to enable the frame buffer...
SET debian-installer/keymap fr-latin9
displayed on a frame buffer-like console. Only if I press Enter does it
continue with
FSET debian-installer/keymap seen yes
and I have to press enter again for getting to the usual "select
language" installer screen.
I don't know if such behavior is on purpose or not, but it either needs
fixed or documented ("press Enter to continue").
