A visit at http://amd64.debian.net/debian-installer/daily/

The lsilogic page mentions:
* Supported by Fusion MPT drivers with full operating system support:
* Windows(R) 2000, XP, Server 2003
* Linux(TM)
* Solaris SPARC
* SCO - UnixWare(TM) and Open Server
* Novell(R) NetWare(R)
I have no clue how much freedom there is that driver,
if I understand it correct, then it is a "MPT card", that should work.
I suggest that you help / support making daily AMD64 d-i builds
now you have an installed AMD64.
Thank you for reporting the PCI ID of the card.
Cheers
