It seems like the wireless driver was not installed rightly. The right driver was selected
(ipw2200 for Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG), however it seems not to work.

Debian etch beta 2 working perfectly on Sony Vaio VGN-S5XP,
even the wireless and sound card
