Bug#356672: problem installing testing release

Machine: Homemade (Asus motherboard, Adaptec SCSI, ATI)
Processor: AMD 2400
Memory: 521MB
Partitions: 2 partitions (sda1 26Gb and 700MB swap) df command doesn’t work, disk can’t be mounted.
 
Output of lspci and lspci -n:
Commands are not available.

Comments/Problems:
 
The installation went very smoothly but when I reboot it can’t mount the SCSI disk.
 
Alert! /dev/sda1 doesn’t exist. Dropping to a shell! 
 
Any ideas?
