Thanks very much for your message Mike.

I've decided, based on your report, to ask RM to hint initramfs-tools 
0.53c for testing early and wait for that for Beta2.
To be honest, I was aware of the issue and had planned to check if testing 
was affected, but it slipped my mind.

This really should be fixed before the release.
