Bug#354143: tasksel: Package hotkey-setup should be installed in laptops
Package: tasksel
Version: 2.40
Severity: wishlist
In laptops there are usually multimedia buttons, and other key combinations (ex: Fn+PgUp) which by
default aren't "recognized" and can't be imediately binded to functions. By installing hotkey-setup,
they all are recognized (in my simple experience with 2 different laptops), and can be imediately
configured using the desktop's configuration programs (like Gnome, or in KDE).
I think it would be helpfull if this package was automatically installed, either under the laptop profile, or in the
desktop one as well, since keyboards carry more extra buttons each year(!).
Ubuntu (since Breezy) does this as well.
