I tried yesterday (and prepared an updated package, which currently sits on my desktop's hard disk), but I couldn't test because unstable/m68k is uninstallable currently (cppunit doesn't build (#345574 and 340563), hence is uninstallable, and aptitude has that as a dependency); and because m68k isn't considered as part of the testing migration ATM and the bug is old enough, that means testing isn't installable, either. With that in mind, I'm not 100% sure what the point of the exercise will be. It'd be nice if there were an option in d-i to say "yeah, I know that base-installer failed, please ignore and continue", which would allow a knowledgeable person to at least test the functioning parts of the installer that come after installing the base system (such as the boot loader). Anyway.
