Me too. I had been horrible busy since Sarge was released...

Original Denis's patch tweaked templates to use ORIGCHOICES (English
message).
Although CHOICES (local message) is still defined by tasksel-debconf
also, there isn't any templates to accept it. So this choices will
always be shown in English.
My idea is:
1. Gettextize Choices of templates (_Choices). Preseed still can use
English.
2. Modify Choices value of templates to "${ORIGCHOICES}".
3. Each po has msgstr "${CHOICES}" against msgid "${ORIGCHOICES}".
4. Now, templates will be made as:
Template: tasksel/first
Type: multiselect
Choices: ${ORIGCHOICES}
Choices-ar.UTF-8: ${CHOICES}
Choices-bg.UTF-8: ${CHOICES}
...
Template: tasksel/tasks
Type: multiselect
Choices: ${ORIGCHOICES}
Choices-ar.UTF-8: ${CHOICES}
Choices-bg.UTF-8: ${CHOICES}
...
5. tasksel-debconf will define English to ${ORIGCHOICES} and do local
messages to ${CHOICES}. debconf values will be stored in English.
