I assume this mean you are only using hotplug-like features in d-i to
load kernel modules, or did you drop discover for X detection too?

Well, discover is a fairly generic location to me. :)

I see the point from Thiemo that we should keep the subarch names
within d-i until it is well proven and have a better design, on the
other hand I want to have a tool in debian to report subarch for use
by popularity-contest, and will use libd-i if that is the only option.

I do not really care much about where the functions/programs are
placed, but would really want an subarch reporting tool for use by
scripts in Debian.  If this go into a new package or an old one, I do
not really care.
