I thought an installation with a serial console might circumvent
the problem, as serial consoles don't use keymaps. However,
after reboot the system hangs even before it shows the first
menu. No difference if I choose a 2.6 kernel from the beginning
or install the default first and upgrade to 2.6 later.
So, currently, netbooting seems indeed to be the only way to
get a 2.6 sparc kernel.
