Comments/Problems:
First, let me say this installer is great. I was converted to Debian
by a friend of my in 2000 after being a Redhat user for ~5 years
(prior to that I had a Sparc for 4 years). Since then I've been
trying to convert other friends from Redhat to Debian, but they always
whined abuot the install process - this installer changed that.
Ok, now for the issues:
1) If I setup a logical volume on one of the IDE hard drives during
installation, LVM fails to find it because the ide_disk modules is not
placed in /etc/modules by the installer.
2) For some reason the UDMA is not enabled on the IDE hard drives. When
I try to enable it manully, I get the error "HDIO_SET_DMA failed:
Operation not permitted". However, udma does work if I install a
2.4 debian kernel or with the latest KNOPPIX CD.
