dual-boot 64-32bit
Hi,
I am trying to setup a 64-bit debian-amd64 and 32-bit AGNULA/Demudi dual
boot.
I installed debian-amd64 first.
Then I used parted to make some free space on the /home partition.
Then I installed demudi_1.2.1-rc1-i386.iso into the free space.
On reboot demudi recognizes SATA disk but hangs at checking the
partitions:
Partition check:
/dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0: <long wait here> <37ata1: DMA
timeout, stat0x64
p1 p2 <
Machine gets stuck here and does not see < p5 p6 p7 p8 p9 p10> p3
I can boot into debian-amd64 by scrolling down kernel choices at
start-up. Grub is loading off the demudi install.
Partition table:
Using /dev/sda
(parted) print
Disk geometry for /dev/sda: 0.000-76318.054 megabytes
Disk label type: msdos
Minor Start End Type Filesystem Flags
1 0.031 266.704 primary ext3
2 266.704 51105.212 extended
5 266.735 5036.000 logical ext3
6 5036.032 7899.147 logical ext3
7 7899.179 10832.893 logical linux-swap

10 49999.206 51105.212 logical linux-swap
3 51105.212 76316.594 primary ext3 boot
I have got 2 swap partitions, is that wrong?
This is /etc/fstab on demudi
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.

# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>

/dev/sda7 none swap sw 0 0
/dev/sdb1 /media/camera vfat rw,user,noauto 0 0
Using AMD Athlon 64 3000+, Gigabyte k8NSPro, Seagate SATA ST380013AS.
Any help appreciated. Maybe I'm trying to do the impossible?
I have not setup a dual boot before.
Thanks,
Norv
