Comments/Problems:

ok boot cdrom
SILO 1.4.8

Welcome to Debian GNU/Linux sarge!
.

[ ENTER - Boot install ] [ Type "rescue" - Boot into rescue mode ]
boot: <Enter>
Allocated 8 Megs of memory at 0x40000000 for kernel
Loaded kernel version 2.4.27
Loading initial ramdisk (2965185 bytes at 0x1F808000 phys, 0x40c00000 virt)...

Remapping the kernel... FP Disabled
ok

If I install Debian stable, I have no problems. Debian stable uses kernel 2.4.18 and does not use initrd images. The problem seems to
be with kernel images that use initrd.

If you need any more information, or have stuff you would like me to
try out, please do email me and let me know what you want to try.
I really would like to have Debian/Sarge running rather then woody
or NetBSD for that matter (which is the other system that boots up
_and_ lets me use X11, but that is another story).

cheers,

    mehul
