I can not make a boot log (I think), the system does not come that far.

Ok, here it is.

Boot method: CD
Image version: 20051111, test cd image (business card image):
http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/daily-builds/etch_d-i/beta1/sparc/iso-cd/debian-testing-sparc-businesscard.iso
This image is taken from:
http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/
It also shows several other SPARC images, like:
http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/daily-builds/daily/arch-latest/sparc/iso-cd/debian-testing-sparc-netinst.iso
Do you for instance use a different source of the CD image than I did?

Date: 21/12/05 07:41 PM (when I tried installing 2.6 kernel via the boot CD)

Comments/Problems:
Silo is started, so CD is detected, but after this the system displays
"Booting Linux..." and just sits there nothing to do. Maybe you do not
use the business card CD image? Booting the 2.4 image is no problem.

THX,
Maarten
