Bug#343635: Hangs in DHCP setup

Used auto partition, worked very well, made several partitions including a swapfile..
Output of lspci and lspci -n: ??? (I am new to Linux)

Comments/Problems: All went well till the window to setup DHCP,
I have tried 3 different boot cd's with the same error at the same place.. DHCP status indicator in install or setup window gets up to 6% very quickly and stops. the window indicates that this will take several minutes.. half hour later no change.. I have used Knoppix in the past with this machine and liked linux.. I tried to install Debian on a new drive as the only OS.. This is where my computer hung up.. I have sucessfully installed ubuntu and kubuntu on this same drive after I tried Debian.. and am learning as I go.. I am new to Linux but am an old timer (before Windows) using dos and cpm..(you may not have heard of cpm, Bill gates got his start with the purchase of this..)
By the way, ubuntu and kubuntu installer looks identical
to your Debian installer.. Hope that you can help..
