If you selected a full CD, this is a known issue? New images are currently
being build. These should be OK.
The netinst and businesscard CD images should already work.

However, see http://wiki.debian.org/DebianInstallerToday for potential
issues.

I used netinst and didn't see any issues that seemed related to the error I got for the amd64 ISOs.

I'm about to give the unofficial Sarge release netinst ISO a shot,
but I was particularly interested in trying out the software RAID and
LVM features of Debian Installer.

The Sarge installer supports LVM and RAID as well. You may need the newer installer though if your hardware is not properly supported by the 2.6.8
kernel of the Sarge installer.

The Sarge installer seems to be working, but I'd be interested in contributing further to Debian Installer for amd64 if I can.
