Installer hangs

Hi there!

I was trying to install debian-31r0a-i386-netinst.iso
(I know it's a 32bit version but I first want to try this)

The problem is now, that it takes Minutes in each disk-detection-process
(loading module ide-disk, Before partitioning, on each RAID substep)
and first I thought it would hang while loading the module ide-disk.
(since it takes so long)

I can?t see any special errors on debug outputs.
After the long delay all appears to be ok.

Server:
http://www.tyan.com/products/html/gt24b2891_spec.html
Chipset: NVIDIA nForce4 Professional +
(Integrated SATA Controller, where disks are located)

Just for a test I tried knoppix (3.91) and it passes hardware-detection
very fast.

Now what's up there? Why those longtime delays?
Any idea to reduce them such as kernel params?
Do I need a testing release with much more recent drivers?

Thanks
