Hi,

Thanks for your reply but I have already installed Debian3.0r1 on the machine.
Also, it would have been very difficult to get /var/log/syslog and messages off
the machine as it was running off the installer unless, the netinst has ssh or
can use usbdrive. The machine doesn't have a floppy.

The HDD and the CDROM were both hooked into the PATA bus, so I thought the
driver should be pretty mature. I did mimic the install script to see what happened.
/bin/mount was never installed into /target/bin. I copied mount from the netinst
disk into /target/bin and the install progressed until it tried to use dpkg-deb
(I think). The install failed because dpkg/dpkg-deb was not installed and I could
not figure out how to install the package.

I would like to, eventually, run AMD64 arch on the machine so I may give it another
try.

Thanks,

Anthony
