Hi!, (sorry for my badder english):

Recently I have proven to install your version they for PA-RISC, in =
principle I have followed all the steps indicated by the one *.txt that =
I discharged of the web. That is to say, to downloading the image ISO, =
burn it to a CD; then to introduce the CD in my HPPA and to force the =
booting from CD-Rom. =20
Until here all well the CD starts up, ELF32 executable executes and, =
next sample a lot of information on the actions that are being carried =
out and configurations of the system: =20
 =20
 model 9000/813/D230 =20
 Total Memory: 256Mb =20
 initrd: 1fe14000-1ffefb47 =20
 ....................... =20
 Partition Check: =20
 sda:sda1 =20
 =20
Then, the normal texts of installation appear of they. As I have =
already proven of partitioning and to prepare the installation =
previously, the first option that PA-RISC offers me it is: =20
"Next: Initialize and Activates a Swap Partition" =20
 I press Enter and he/she asks: Run to bad-block scan on ' /dev/sda1? =
and I decide 'Yes'. =20
Subsequently it mounts a partition Linux swap and a partition ext2 that =
also check in search of errors. He/she writes inode tables and =
superblocks and the File System. =20
The following message in screen Mount as the Root Filesystem? my =
answer is Yes. =20
Next: Install Kernell and Driver Modules. After wondering how half I =
will use to carry out this action, I select CD-Rom and he/she begins to =
read of the same one, from the route that he/she offers for defect. Then =
it indicates me the following route of location of packages or =
files...dists/woody/main/disks-hppa/3.0.17.0.3-20011204/32,...dists/woody=
/main/disks-hppa/3.0.17.03-20011204/64, I select... /32 although if I =
select... do /64 continue reading of... /32 (???!!!!) =20
Next: Device configure Driver you Modules and all OK. =20
Next: Configure the Network and here I select name for defect: debian, =
IP static 192.168.128.11, netmask 255.255.255.0, Non IP Gateway, Not =
Domain, IP of the server (Windows 2000 Advance Server) 192.168.128.1 =
with netmask 255.255.255.0, etc... =20
Next: Install the Base System. I select like half of installation the =
CD-Rom PA-RISC Owed Linux, the reading of the suitable support begins =
and he/she asks the route where they are the installation files, I =
select the one that offers for defect, or " stable " and the writing =
begins in hard disk. Apparently everything goes well and it copies and =
Linux installs in the system, besides the packages corresponding to a =
typical or normal installation, but when it arrives to the step I =
criticize of Make The System Bootable the following error he/she =
appears: =20
-PROBLEM - PALO WASN'T ABLE TO INSTALL. You can still remote boot and =
point the root device to the installed system (Continue). =
............... =20
Where I have failed?, What solution can it have?. Please, help me, I =
almost take 2 months trying to configure my HP9000 and I am not able to =
make it. Thank you ahead of time and I wish you happy Christmas and an =
unbeatable year 2003. A hug for all you, are the best in the best thing. =
=20
Linux is my following objective, I am already fed up with Windows and I =
want to begin configuring a Linux server, with NFS, Apache, Webmail, =
Samba, DHCPd, DNS. I believe that Linux is the future of the companies =
and desire to be prepared for it. A greeting to the whole community =
Linux and to you a special hug for your patience and help. Thanks You.

I'm closing all bug reports filed on the boot-floppies since this
codebase has reached its end of life. boot-floppies is only in Debian
oldstable now (and temporarily in unstable because of bug #224469).

The new installer for sarge and beyond is of course, the
debian-installer. It solves a great many issues present in the
boot-floppies.

If you believe that your boot-floppies bug is still present in
debian-installer somehow, then please reopen the bug report and reassign
it there, or perhaps better, file a new bug report.
