I am not the submitter, but to clear things up a bit:

a Linux port to the DEC 3000 series is work in progress. The
majority of the current porting effort has been done by Peter de
Schrijver (p2@debian.org). The port is not ready for inclusion
into mainline yet and probably will not be for quite some time. 
One of the current targets is to write a cpu architecture
independent TurboChannel layer to be used for all architectures
using TurboChannel (i.e. vax, mipsel and alpha). After that
is done, support for the various TurboChannel devices can 
be handled properly.

So at the moment, there is no support for the DEC 3000 series
in Debian at all.
