Package: boot-floppy
Version: 3.0.23-2002-05-21
Severity: grave

I tried to install Debian3.0r2 on my PowerPC-PReP machine (Motorola Power=
Stack)
using the floppy disk set from
  /dists/stable/main/disks-powerpc/3.0.23-2002-05-21/prep/images-1.44/.
Although all disks were loaded sucessfully (per se), when performing
  Next: Configure Device Driver Modules
this step cannot find any modules to configure (see screen transscript be=
low),
and the installation runs into an endless loop. Re-installing kernel and =
driver
modules will not help.

The modules are expected to be in
  /traget/lib/modules/2.2.20PREP
but are actually in
  /traget/lib/modules/2.2.20-prep

At the second console I get:

# uname -a
Linux (none) 2.2.20PREP #2 Thu May 16 11:07:48 EDT 2002 ppc unknown

# ls /target/lib/modules
2.2.20-prep

A quick hack may be:

# cd /target/lib/modules
# ln -s 2.2.20-prep 2.2.20PREP

so it will be possible to continue with the module configuring step (with=
 an
immediate Exit) and complete the installation, but probably with a
kernel <-> module mismatch.

Transscript from installation screens (not accurate, abridged)
