GTK 2.7.2 automated building success reported

Hi

I've just successfully tested the script that Davide created to automatically build the GTKDFB v 2.7.2 libraries (good work, Davide: this helps a lot!). I've also been to compile the frontend and to make it work correctly (in a much more stable manner than only some weeks ago) with standard test scripts. Since a lot of confusion came up recently around the dilemma GTK 2.0.9 or GTK 2.7.x/2.8.x, here i'd like to clearify some points:

-ATM GTK 2.7.2 is the latest known version of GTK to compile against GDKDFB and it will take some time yet before Mike Emmel updates the GDKDFB library to that GTK 2.8.4 can be compiled against it.

-Since GTK 2.7.2 is a developers-only version taken from CVS it's NOT suitable for udeb packaging nor real use: we'll have to use for the next weeks to come the old GTK 2.0.9 udebs (binaries and developement files) provided by Alastair to automatically build the frontend and to create ISOs using the new build target Frans has set up.

-While Mike Emmel updates the GDKDFB library to compile against GTK v. 2.8.4 some experiments can be done with GTK 2.7.2 and Davide's script: this will allow to test the frontend against GTK 2.7.2 rather 2.0.9.

By my side, i'll produce soon a new hacky had-made netinst ISO based on GTK 2.7.2

ciao

Attilio
