tg3 was removed in 2.6.11 or so and readded in 2.6.12 when the firmware
license issues were resolved.

Well I have no idea what CPUs are in that machine.  If it runs 64bit
feel free to try my amd64 sarge installer at
http://www.tinyplanet.ca/~lsorense/amd64/ which uses 2.6.12 kernel.

Any driver NOT in 2.6.8 has to be manually loaded since the discover
data hasn't been updated (so you go to console 2 and do modprobe
drivername, and then go back to console 1 and redetect disks).

I haven't made an i386 version although someday I might get around to
that.
