Ah, I remembered that someone had done a patch for this but I couldn't find it. Care to repost that patch? The recent changes to base-installer make it include all linux-image and kernel-image packages in its list of kernels, but the per-arch code that decides which kernel is the preferred kernel for the machine has some hardcoding of "linux-image", so it would not work on sarge. -- see shy jo
