Could it be that you booted the installer using "expert" and then later
selected a 2.6 kernel? If that is the case, you switched kernel versions
during the installation, which could lead to (minor) problems like this.
If you did, please (if you can) try an installation where you boot the
installer from the start with a 2.6 kernel using linux26 or expert26.
