Comments/Problems:
Very smooth.
The (admittedly crappy) i830 chipset is _still_ not well supported.
The best I could do was 8-bit VESA (1024x768), ugh.

But almost everything else worked fine.

There seemed to be a conflict over which package owns this file -
  /usr/share/man/man1/gsnd.1.gz
gs-common, or some other package. I can't remember, think it was 'gs'.
I had to remove 'gs' and 'gs-common' I believe.
